Residents and families have peace of mind knowing assistance is available 24 hours a day.
We recognise that everyone is unique, with different interests and life experiences. Scientific research shows reminiscing and talking about individual interests improves mood and overall wellbeing, as well has having the potential to improve communication abilities. Our lifestyle approach ensures we capture what’s important to our residents so our staff can build closer, meaningful relationships with our residents.
Spontaneity, joy and connection are the focus of our staff. We aim to bring meaning and purpose to our residents’ lives. We frequently have concerts with live music, and special events throughout the year.
All our food is cooked fresh on site by qualified chefs. Our experienced kitchen team allows us to make quick decisions regarding menu choices, availability and special requests.
The four weekly cycle menu changes twice a year, (summer and winter) to reflect the seasons and available fresh produce. Our menus include choices such as Salmon steaks, Beef Cheeks and favourites including Treacle Tart and Bread and Butter pudding, just to name a few. As always, we advocate fresh is best on our menus.
At RiverSea Mosman Park we provide care using a Person-centred approach. This approach involves the whole team and ensures our care is focussed on the resident, treating them as an individual, looking at their quality of life from their perspective and ensuring there is a social environment where they can experience wellbeing.
Person-centred care includes the importance of the family and friends being involved as a care partner. Our staff understand how important it is to talk to the person and include the family and friends when they plan care now and in the future.
Our staff work in partnership with families to understand and know our residents well, and we enable residents to live purposeful lives. Over time we individualise care and focus on wellbeing and purpose for each resident. It takes time to build the mutual trust and respect required to achieve this.
Families are encouraged to attend our monthly support group where we share information about what is happening on site, as well as providing education and advice and support as they navigate the difficult journey of having a loved one with dementia.
You will find our staff warm and welcoming, and feedback on our services are always encouraged.
